So this past weekend I upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 and it went very well. I have a USB Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard and IntelliMouse 2.0 wireless mouse, both of which were prompted to install the software suit first thing after Win10 welcome desktop and worked perfectly.
However, I wanted to have a 'clean' install, so today I did a PC Reset. Everything went well til the Win10 screen to enter regional info, when my USB KB/Mouse weren't detected/working. Thankfully I still had an old PS/2 KB/Mouse that worked after a restart.
Here's the problem -
I used these to check my drivers -
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...pdate-Utility-
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect
and Intel said I didn't need any. I know the ports are good because my USB keyboard and mouse both light up during Intel Bios flash but go blank once
Windows 10 starts up.
I'm thinking there was something changed in the registry during the PC Reset that made these controllers incomplete. I also couldn't find anything on
Intel's website to download these drivers either. They tripped these events -

Funny how a clean install is supposed to work better than an upgrade lol.
Thanks for any help!

If you didn't know already, there's actually an open source Standalone Steam Controller Driver which could make it far more useful outside of Steam. This is why I love the open source community, creating their own drivers and software to work for them.

[Support] Using the Steam Controller with a game from the Windows 10 Store?
I just bought Laura Croft: GO from the Windows Store on Win10. Only a buck ATM so I thought it would be worth testing the store, particularly how well it integrates with Steam (after bad experience with Origin and ME1).
I cannot find the game's executable to add it to Steam as a non-Steam game. The desktop shortcut I was able to make for the game does not contain a normal directory path. I have tried doing a file search but that turns up nothing. Has anyone been able to add a Win10 store game to Steam, and if so, how?
Edit 1: Turns out the game's folder is carefully hidden, but can be 'unlocked' using this set of instructions. I found the EXE and added it to Steam, but it fails to launch. When I tried launching the EXE directly, I got the message 'This application can only run in the context of an app container'.
Steam Controller Driver For Windows 10
Edit 2: I did some more research and found this suggestion to use a shortcut, but I get an error when I try to add a desktop shortcut as a non-steam game: 'catastrophic failure'.
Edit 3: I found this possible work-around but it involves running some code that I do not understand, so I'm nervous to try it out. I have been able to play Laura Croft: GO using the desktop config for the Steam Controller, which is good enough for me for now. I'll probably just never buy anything from the Microsoft Store (or Origin) again.
I hope the Steam Controller gets better support in the future for running it with non-Steam games, if there is even anything Valve can do about it.
